Australia's Melbourne a better place to live than Sydney: survey

The quality of life is officially better in Melbourne than Sydney, according to a survey released on Friday.

In a world ranking of the most livable cities, Monocle magazine 's 2015 Quality of Life Survey put Melbourne in fourth place, ahead of Sydney on fifth.

Tokyo has been crowned the most livable city, earning high marks for its "defining paradox of heart-stopping size and concurrent feeling of peace and quiet," the magazine said.
