China's Jiangxi upgrades flood emergency response

East China's Jiangxi Province on Friday upgraded its emergency response for flood control from level III to level II, as millions have been affected since Monday.

As of 10:30 a.m. Friday, the floods starting from Monday had affected over 3.68 million residents in Jiangxi, with about 324,000 people relocated, according to the provincial emergency management department.

The direct economic loss from the floods was 3.79 billion yuan (about 542 million U.S. dollars).

Jiangxi upgraded its emergency response for flood control from level IV to level III on Wednesday.
