Taliban take Ghazni city, 150 km from Afghan capital: lawmaker

The Taliban have taken Ghazni city in southeastern Afghanistan, the 10th provincial capital to fall in a week, according to AFP citing Nasir Ahmad Faqiri, a senior local lawmaker.

The city is just 150 kilometers (95 miles) from the capital Kabul.

"The Taliban took control of the key areas of the city – the governor's office, the police headquarters and the prison," the lawmaker told AFP.
