Tensions high in Minneapolis during Chauvin trial, police shooting

After 38 witnesses, over 11 days, the prosecution rested its case against DerekChauvin​on Tuesday.

The former police officer faces murder and manslaughter chargesforthe death of George Floyd last May.

Thedefense​then opened its case,show​ingthe court new bodycam footage. One​clipshowed​then-Minneapolispolice officer Scott Creighton arresting Floyd in​a previous stop inMayof2019.

The​retiredofficer told the court that Floyddid not comply with police demands.

Some fifteen kilometers away in Brooklyn Center, further clashes between police and protestors. These,follow​ingthelatest deathofa Black man at the hands of a White police officer.
