Conducted by Zubin Mehta, and played by the Vienna Philharmonic in cooperation with violinist Pinchas Zukerman, Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 was presented on Sunday, marking the climax of the Salzburg Festival 2013.

The 77-year old classical music director Mehta, 65-year-old violinist Zukerman and the Vienna Philharmonic, found in 1842, marked their music festival by playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3, which was composed by talented young Mozart in Salzburg in 1775 when he was 19 years old.

Audiences crammed the concert hall despite a scorching weather, even though this was already the second time the performance was staged during the weekend.

The 6-week long Salzburg Festival, first inaugurated in 1920, opened its new season on Friday, featuring operas, dramas and concerts.
