According to recent reports, India and Pakistan will soon be signing an agreement that will enable the followers of Sikh religion to visit a shrine in Pakistan.

A report published in the Reuters stated that, “The pact will introduce visa-free access from India to the Pakistani town of Kartarpur, home to a temple that marks the site where the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, died.”

The agreement is expected to be signed on Wednesday, though the Pakistani side has not yet confirmed.

The shrine is called Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and is in the town of Kartarpur, merely three kilometer from the India-Pakistan border in Punjab.

Meanwhile a corridor will also be constructed between the shrine in Pakitan and another one in India called Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The corridor might open to public in November.

Indians will be able to visit the shrine in Pakistan without visa. Pilgrims will however, be asked to show a permit, which they will have to produce before the if demanded.
