HARBIN, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The city of Suifenhe, at the China-Russia border in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, reported a total of 322 confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases from overseas by Monday, local epidemic prevention and control authorities said Tuesday.

The city also saw 38 asymptomatic COVID-19 infections by the end of Monday.

Local authorities said that the Suifenhe port, a major land checkpoint at the border, remains shut down its passenger inspection channel.

Suifenhe on Monday put a mobile laboratory into use, which has greatly improved the city's nucleic acid testing capability. So far, the city's daily testing capability has exceeded 1,000.
