A Canadian court has ruled extradition proceedings against Meng Wanzhou can proceed.

According to Justice Heather Holmes of British Columbia Supreme Court, the fraud charges against Meng satisfied the extradition requirement of "double criminality", meaning Meng is accused of the considered crime in Canada as well.

The next procedures will be Meng's lawyers continuing to fight the extradition order.

The U.S. is accusing Meng, a senior Huawei executive, of fraud linked to a violation of U.S. sanctions against Iran and want her to face trial in New York.

The Canadian police arrested her at Vancouver airport on December 1, 2018.

Meng and Huawei deny any wrongdoing.
