DPRK top leader vows to maintain absolute superiority of the army

Kim Jong Un, topleaderof the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) expressed firm will to maintain the absolute superiority of the DPRK armed forces, the state mediaKorean Central News Agencyreported on Saturday.

Kim made the remarks when meeting the commanding officers of the Korean People's Army, who directed the military parade and other events commemorating the 90th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, at the office building of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee.

"In the present world, where a force clashes with another fiercely and one can preserve one's dignity, rights and interests only when one gets stronger, the tremendous offensive power, the overwhelming military muscle that no force in the world can provoke, is the lifeline guaranteeing the security of our country and people and the future of posterity," said Kim.

He also called for constantly develop the army to "preemptively and thoroughly contain and frustrate all dangerous attempts and threatening moves, including ever-escalating nuclear threats from hostile forces."
