How do you get reliable information about COVID-19 to people on the margins of society - especially migrants - who may not get broadcast news and are exposed to a lot of dubious sources on social media?

In southern Italy a three-man group of volunteers has been hitting the streets of Castel Volturno, in Caserta, using old-school methods to bring vital advice and supplies to those struggling under the lockdown.

Doe Prosper and two other volunteers make up Kalifoo Ground, which tours the streets in a van giving advice using a microphone and speaker in neighbourhoods where there is a high-rate of immigration.

They explain new rules that have been brought in by the Italian government to fight the virus and they have also put together infographic videos in different language for migrants to share with each other.

"It is very important that you stay indoors, if you need food you call these two numbers, if you need any information, you call these two numbers," Prosper told one neighbourhood.

The group, which is supported by an Italian NGO, also distributes food and other aid to people in need.

Kalifoo Ground is also helping Italians and especially elderly people with their aim to give back to the community.

Fellow Kalifoo volunteer Moses Imose said: "There are a lot of immigrants that live here who don't have access to televisions to get the news. Some of them have WhatsApp but there is different… fake news that is going around so we have taken it upon ourselves to try to help them understand the situation right here and explain to them how they can better look after themselves."
