Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday said "everything will be fine soon" on Pakistan border after days of heavy shelling by both sides along the border and line-of-control in Kashmir.

India said earlier it is giving a "massive" reply to the " totally unprovoked" shelling by Pakistan and will continue to do so unless the other side stops.

However, the Press Trust of India quoted top government sources as saying talks can happen with Pakistan if Islamabad is sincere.

India will not accept any third party intervention, including by the UN which has been approached by Pakistan, said the report.

At least two dozens of civilians have been killed on both sides in the shelling over the past few days.
