OnSaturday,theSaudiInteriorMinistryannouncedthatprominentShiiteal-Nimrand46othermenwereexecutedonterrorcharges.

TheprotestersalsochantedslogansagainsttheUnitedStatesandIsraelandsetablazetheirflags.

TheynamedastreetadjacenttotheSaudiEmbassyaftertheslaincleric,callingit"Shahidal-Nimr"or"martyral-Nimr."

Simultaneously,anotherprotestrallywasheldinthePalestinesquareofthecapital.Theyalsochantedanti-SaudislogansandsetonfiretheflagsoftheUnitedStatesandIsrael.

Thejudiciaryhasissuedarrestwarrantsagainstothersinvolvedinstormingtheembassy,Dolatabadiwasquotedassaying.

IranianDeputyForeignMinisterforArabandAfricanAffairsHosseinAmir-AbdollahianconveyedthestrongprotestoftheIslamicrepublictotheSaudienvoy,Ahmedal-Muwallid,overwhathecalledthe"irresponsiblebehavior"oftheSaudiofficialsinthisregard,thestateTVreported.

AlsoonSunday,HezbollahchiefSayyedHassanNasrallahinatelevisedspeechlaunchedablisteringverbalattackagainstSaudiArabiaovertheexecution.However,hewarnedagainstturningtheissueintoasectarianconflict.
