China tops mobile game market worldwide

China has become the largest mobile game market in the world, according to the latest 2017 Global Mobile Games Industry White Paper, Yicai.com reported.

In 2017, the total revenue of the Chinese mobile game market was US$14.64 billion, almost double the amount of the United States, which secured second place with an annual revenue of US$7.7 billion.

The two countries were followed by Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, eSport, a form of competition using video games, is expected to become the hot new trend in the future development of gaming.

The market size of eSport has ushered in explosive growth, exceeding 45 billion yuan, a stunning rise of 250% from a year earlier.

In addition, the market for Japanese anime mobile games has continued its rapid acceleration, with a market growth rate exceeding 60% year over year.
