Brazilian President Michel Temer's approval rating has reached a record-low 3 percent, according to a poll on Thursday by the Brazilian Institute of Public Opinion and Statistics (Ibope).

According to the poll, 3 percent of Brazilians find Temer's government "good" or "very good," while 77 percent consider it "bad" or "very bad." Just 16 percent consider it average, while the rest did not have an opinion on the matter.

The poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points. In a previous Ibope poll in July, the president's approval rating was 5 percent. No president in Brazil has had such a low rating in the past 30 years.

The Ibope poll was held on Sept. 15-20, with 2,000 participants from 126 towns in Brazil.

With a disapproval rating of 77 percent, Temer is more unpopular than his predecessor, Dilma Rousseff, near her impeachment, last year.

Also, while Rousseff has been president for six years, Temer has been in office for only a year.
