Land-sea freight service grows significantly in H1

The west of China has seen a total of 1,691 trips in the first half of the year via its land-sea freight route, the China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd. said.

The route has seen 674 more trains in the January-June period compared with the same period last year, up 66.3 percent year-on-year, said the company.

The land-sea freight route is part of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a trade and logistics passage jointly built by western Chinese provincial regions and Singapore.

To facilitate the construction of the trade corridor, the Nanning company has contributed to the accelerated construction of its freight service via the Beibu Gulf, which serves as an important transit in the corridor and the closest gateway for inland regions of China to reach the sea.

As of June 30, the route has transported a greater variety of goods, now standing at 191 different categories, and linked the ports of 14 Chinese provinces and regions with 83 countries.
