China's Doctors' Day, also known as Medical Workers' Day, falls on Aug. 19.
In late 2017, the State Council, China's cabinet, set Aug. 19 as the national Doctors' Day starting from 2018.
The decision was made to show care to the country's health and medical workers and to acknowledge their outstanding work.
According to health authorities, activities will be held on this day to promote the noble spirit intrinsic to the medical profession, foster a sound social environment that respects medical workers, and accelerate implementation of the Healthy China initiative.
