Global COVID-19 deaths surpassed 580,000 on Wednesday, reaching 580,038 as of 11:34 a.m. (1534 GMT), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University. Meanwhile, the total COVID-19 cases around the world rose to 13,382,020, according to the CSSE.
The United States reported the most COVID-19 cases and deaths, standing at 3,448,625 and 136,699, respectively. Other countries with over 20,000 fatalities include Brazil, Britain, Mexico, Italy, France, Spain, and India.
