British Prime Minister Theresa May has apologized for the official response to the devastating fire that engulfed the Grenfell tower in London on June 14 and killed at least 79 people.

May told the UK parliament the reaction was "not good enough," and was "a failure of the state, local and national, to help people when they needed it most."

The prime minister also said her government would continue to cut corporation tax to encourage businesses invest in Britain and help the economy grow.
