Bruce Lee, the Chinese-American martial artist and film star would have been 80 on Friday. Known for his lightning fast fighting style and on-screen talent, Lee was also a serious student not only of martial arts, but Eastern philosophy, quantum physics, the power of positive thinking, psychotherapy and Taoism. Bruce, born Lee Jun-fan, was said to have the ability to move from stillness to exploding “like a firecracker.” Lee said he could do because of his ability to tap into his “Chi,” regarded as the "life force" inherent to all living beings and the central principle in Chinese traditional medicine and martial arts. Bruce Lee starred in more than 30 films before he died at age 32 from a cerebral edema in 1973.
