Beijing authorities on Sunday briefed on typical imported cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from Britain.

Pang Xinghuo, with Beijing's disease prevention and control center, introduced information about a family of six involved.

The family arrived in Beijing from Britain. So far, four of them have tested positive for the virus, and the rest are under quarantine, Pang said at a press conference.

The one-year-old Yu lived in Britain from March 7 to 15. She developed symptoms of coughing and a running nose on March 13, and the family started coming back to China on March 16 by transferring via Singapore, Pang said. They arrived in Beijing on March 17.

Her grandmother and mother were confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus on March 18, while Yu and her brother were confirmed on Saturday.

Pang added that the transmission rate between family members is much higher than that among other social relations.
