Xinjiang reports 57 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region reported 57 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, the regional health commission said Tuesday.

The 57 confirmed patients were all in the regional capital Urumqi, 18 of whom were previously asymptomatic cases, according to the commission.

The region also saw 13 new asymptomatic cases on Monday.

By Monday, Xinjiang had 235 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 165 asymptomatic cases, and 8,809 people were still under medical observation.
