A Saudi-led bloc of Arab countries boycotting Qatar have agreed to a request by Kuwait to extend by 48 hours Sunday's deadline for Doha to comply to a set of demands, according to a joint statement on Saudi state news agency SPA.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the foreign minister of Qatar, will hand over an official reply to the emir of Kuwait, who is mediating in the crisis, Qatar News Agency said. There was no other information about Qatar's official response.

Kuwait’s leader Sheikh Sabah has been shuttling between Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE trying to find common negotiating ground, ever since Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman and the UAE blocked land, sea and air access after accusing Qatar's government of backing terrorism.
