GEORGIA
Georgia started lifting its shelter-in-place order on April 24. Currently outdoor and recreational gyms, entertainment businesses, movie theaters, retail shops, hair salons and restaurant dining rooms are all open. Total cases now top 29,000.
While the data isn't complete due to results still pending, initial state data shows that there were 702 new cases reported on April 24. On April 27 there were 814 new cases and on April 28, 681. New case numbers have fallen to 17 cases reported on May 3 -- but this is likely due to incomplete data.
OKLAHOMA:
Oklahoma never issued a statewide lockdown, but there were some restrictions that the governor lifted on April 24. Currently hair salons, restaurant dining, movie theaters, gyms, houses of worship, and sporting venues are open with some restrictions. On April 24 there were 78 new cases, on April 27 the state reported 165 new cases, and on April 28, 103 new cases.
TEXAS
The stay-at-home order in Texas ended on April 30. All parks, stores, restaurants, movie theaters and malls are now open. Since then cases have continued to rise. From 1,033 on April 30 to 1142 on May 1, 1,293 on May 2, and 1026 on May 3.
SOUTH CAROLINA
The state's stay at home order ends on May 4 but parts of the state began to open on April 20. Currently retail and beauty shops are open as are beaches and outdoor recreation locations. On April 20 there were 171 new cases, on May 1 there were 222 new cases.
TENNESSEE
Tennessee's stay at home order ended on April 30. Restaurants opened on April 27 and retail stores opened on April 29. Currently outdoor recreation areas are open as are most restaurant and bar dining and retail stores. On April 30 the state reported 369 new cases. On May 3, there were 516 new cases.
MISSISSIPPI
Mississippi's stay at home order ended on April 27. Retail stores are open at limited capacity but gyms and spas are still closed. On April 27, the state reported 183 new cases; on May 1, there were 397 new cases; on May 2, 229 new cases and on May 3, 112 new cases.
IOWA
There was no statewide order, but some counties placed restrictions that began to be lifted on May 1. Some counties opened restaurant dining, outdoor recreation areas and gyms. Beauty salons, malls, libraries, entertainment venues and retail stores were also open in some counties. On May 1, the state reported 739 new cases, on May 2 that great to 757 new cases, and 528 new cases on May 3. The governor said the increase in cases was due to increased testing.
