Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said Turkey might consider launching a military operation if the bombardments in Syria's province of Idlib continue.

"We sincerely want stability in Syria and will not hesitate to do whatever it takes, including using military force," Erdogan said in Ankara.

The Syrian government forces, backed by Russia, have been carrying out airstrikes in Idlib, the last stronghold of rebels in Syria, forcing civilians to leave their homes.

"Our country, which currently hosts 3.6 million Syrians, has no tolerance for a new wave of migration," Erdogan said, adding that his country will not remain silent on the issue.

Erdogan earlier noted that nearly 400,000 people from Idlib have started moving toward Turkey's border, fleeing hostility in the region.

The Idlib issue has also strained the ties between Turkey and Russia.

On Wednesday, Erdogan blamed Russia for not abiding by the agreements inked earlier to end the conflict in Syria's Idlib region.
