Germany reports over 1,000 COVID-19 deaths

Germany reported 1,017 total COVID-19 deaths of infection on Friday morning, as confirmed cases have risen to 79,696, according to Rober-Koch-Institut, the country's disease control agency.

The total figure of COVID-19 cases in Germany has seen an increase of 6,174 over the past 24 hours, the agency said.

The agency on Thursday unprecedentedly advised people to wear protective masks when a safe distance can not be guaranteed, especially in enclosed areas.
