Deal signed to build electronics base in Xindu district, Chengdu

Yunheng Manufacturing, an electronics maker from Jiangsu province, signed a cooperation agreement with the Xindu district government in Chengdu, Sichuan province on Monday to establish an electronics precision manufacturing and application base in the district.

With a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($691 million), the project will be implemented in three phases.

The first phase is to build the company's southwestern regional center, an online design platform and an integrated circuit manufacturing center, which has more than 16 productions lines and four assembly lines.

The second phase involves the construction of an electronic components supply chain center and an incubator center for the company.

After this, the third phase will focus on expanding the two projects to build an integrated base with operational functions, research and development, intelligent manufacturing and supply chain management.

"We have long been eager to branch out into China's western regions. Xindu district has a solid industrial foundation as well as a favorable business environment. That's why we decided to launch our project here," said Cai Xiaogang, president of Yunheng Manufacturing.

The project is of great significance to Xindu's electronic information industry, while it will contribute to establishing a high-quality industrial system and promoting regional economic growth, local officials said.

The project is expected to be completed and start production this year, Cai said. With full production capacity, its annual output value will exceed 3 billion yuan.
