Chinese Foreign Minister postpones Russia visit

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to Moscow has been postponed due to changes in the Russian leaders' schedule, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

Due to changes in the work schedule of the Russian leaders, it was decided to postpone a working visit to Russia by Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councilor Wang Yi to a later date, TASS Russian News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying, told a daily briefing on Monday that as the Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping, Wang will pay a working visit to Russia on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"A new date for the visit will be arranged through diplomatic channels," TASS reported.

Wang was expected to meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, to exchange views on the current state of and future prospects for a strategic partnership between the two states and discuss a schedule of further top-and high-level contacts, TASS said.
