Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) on Tuesday reported five additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 and three preliminary positive cases, most of which have travel history to Europe.
With the five new cases, Hong Kong's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 162.
Out of the eight confirmed or preliminary positive cases, seven patients have visited Europe recently, head of the CHP's Communicable Disease Branch Chuang Shuk-kwan told a daily press briefing.
The remaining one confirmed case involves a man without travel history. The patient has dined with some friends in recent days, among whom one had symptoms of pneumonia.
Of all 162 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong, four patients have passed away, 91 patients have been discharged from hospitals, and 67 patients are under treatment in hospitals.
