ASEAN ethnic artists to perform in Cambodia

Ethnic artists from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will join together to perform at the Chaktomuk Theater here on Friday evening, a Cambodian official said Monday.

"This event will feature unique cultural and art performances by ethnic artists from all ASEAN countries," Culture and Fine Arts Secretary of State Samrang Kamsan said in a press conference, adding that seven artists from each country will have seven minutes to perform at the event.

"It is aimed at promoting and exchanging culture and arts among ethnic groups in ASEAN," he said.

Founded in 1967, ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The bloc will be transformed into a community from Dec. 31, 2015. Enditem
