China on Monday began fueling the fifth Long March-5 rocket, current the country's largest launch vehicle, for carrying the Chang'e-5 lunar probe to the moon from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in south China's Hainan Province.

The Chang'e-5 mission aims to conduct unmanned lunar sample collection and return to Earth – one of China's most complicated and challenging space missions. It will contribute to scientific studies in fields such as the formation and evolution of the moon.
