All Greek banks will reopen on Monday July 20 after a three-week bank holiday, but capital controls will continue, according to an official statement released on Saturday.

Depositors will be able to reach the counters of bank branches from next week for a limited number of transactions, but the 60 euro euro daily limit in cash withdrawals remains, according to the decree issued by the Finance Ministry.

The only difference is that as of Monday savers will be given the chance to "carry over" their withdrawal allowance into the next days up to 420 euros per week.

For example, if someone does not withdraw any money on one day or four consecutive days, they will be able to withdraw up to 420 euros by the end of the week.

In order to ease the pressure on import/export businesses and students living abroad the government allows from now on the transfer of up to 5,000 euros per semester abroad.

Patients who need to get treatment outside Greece will also be allowed to withdraw a restricted sum.
