Almost ten percent of Venezuela's population has migrated in recent years, a consequence of the country's economic crisis.

Those that have stayed behind are often the elderly. That has caused a problem for families living abroad who want to find a solution to care for them.

One company in Caracas is offering a solution, the "My Alternative Child," program.

For a few hours a week, young Venezuelans will spend time with elderly people who live alone.

79-year-old Ivon Perez signed up for the program after she found herself alone in Caracas. She feels she has a new lease on life.
