China's industrial capacity utilization rate at 67.3 pct in Q1

China's industrial capacity utilization rate stood at 67.3 percent in the first quarter of 2020, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Friday. The figure was down 8.6 percentage points from the same period a year earlier.

Among the three major sectors, the mining sector's utilization rate in the first quarter dropped 6 percentage points from last year. Manufacturing capacity utilization was down 9.1 percentage points, while the production and supply of electricity, thermal power, gas and water dipped 3.8 percentage points in utilization.

NBS data also showed that China's value-added industrial output fell 8.4 percent year on year in the first quarter.
