We are students from the School of International Journalism and Communication(SIJC), Beijing Foreign Studies University(BFSU). Living in an ivory tower, but we are also part of the crowds. Young and energetic, we are eager for the sky and at the same time down to earth.

We grow up and enjoy ourselves in this hustle and bustle era, and we are searching for a way to record this complicated world. We are watching the world while the world is judging us in return. China is more like a flowing screen other than a flowing feast in the description of Ernest Hemingway, on which we witnessed various moments of the inspiring China on the rise.

However, we are also aware that beyond the screen there are pictures we failed to catch, people we failed to discover, and stories we failed to unravel. Ordinary they might seem, they vary with the movement of our time, through which we can hold the pulse of the times tightly.

The truth is, observation is hard. It requires people to shake off their insularity, prejudices and try to be enthusiastic, rational and objective during the process. In an era of globalization, we would like to function as observers who record the China stories objectively and bring the authentic stories to the world’s audience.

Language opens a window to the world for us, while journalism cultivates our independent civic consciousness. As students majoring in international journalism, we felt obliged to fill these parts into the screen through efforts of our own observation. You are here with us to comment on the world.
