**JAKARTA, Oct. 23 (APD) ** — Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Adel bin Jubeir said here on Tuesday that his government would undertake thorough investigation into the recent slain of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi Arabian journalist, in Saudi Arabia consulate office in Turkey.
“The king (Salman bin Abdulazis Al-Saud) and the prince (Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud) have pledged commitments that investigation would be carried out until the truth is revealed,” Adel said in a joint press conference during his current visit to Indonesia with his Indonesian Retno Marsudi at presence.
Commenting in the investigation into the tragic death of Jamal Khashoggi, Indonesia expects the instigation is conducted transparently.
“Indonesia strongly hopes for a transparent and thorough investigation,” Retno said.
The Saudi Arabian foreign minister said that King Salman has made contacts with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shortly after received information on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.
The Saudi king has sent an investigator team to Turkey, to team up with Turkish team in carrying out the investigation, Adel said.
“We jointly do the investigation. Saudi Arabian and Turkish teams have already in Turkey to collect the evidences related to the murder that took place in Saudi Arabian consulate office in Istanbul,” Adel added.
King Salman has issued order for the general prosecutor officer to carry out the investigation around ten days ago, Adel said.
Cited to results of investigation, Adel said that there were inconsistencies related to reports filed in by the team compered to the real event that happened in the site.
“As the consequences, 18 ones have been detained and being questioned. Six senior officials have been dismissed from their posts,” he said.
Adel added that Saudi Arabian government would continue the investigation until the murderers were arrested and taking responsible over their misdeeds.
“Besides that, procedures and mechanism would also be applied to assure that such an incident would not occur again in the future. We would continue providing information about the developing investigation through our general attorney office,” he said.
The killing of Jamal Khashoggi had generated concerns among leaders of several countries and international community.
The Saudi Arabian national journalist who worked for the United States prominent media outlet was reported of ambushed in the consulate office when he was about to organize administration process related to his upcoming marriage.
Reports said that body of Jamal Khashoggi was mutilated in Saudi Arabia consulate office in Istanbul.
Khashoggi was an outspoken journalist who frequently criticized Saudi Arabian government’s domestic policies as well as its airstrikes in Yemen.
