China's entertainment company Yue Hua Entertainment and South Korea's YG Entertainment are in talks for co-producing dramas or movies, a local newspaper reported Thursday.

Jointly produced dramas or movies could be released as early as 2015 in both countries, the Hankook Economic Daily reported, citing unidentified industry sources.

An official at YG Entertainment, which manages a stable of K- Pop acts such as boy band Big Bang and rapper Psy, was quoted as saying it was true for the management company to be in discussions about investment from Chinese counterparts, declining to elaborate on it further.

"The report is groundless," another YG official told Xinhua by phone, declining to comment on the reported talks about the investment from China.

The Yue Hua Entertainment set up its affiliate in South Korea after China and South Korea concluded substantive negotiations for the bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) last month. The free trade pact is expected to boost joint business in the entertainment industry.

The Chinese management agency is reportedly contacting other major South Korean counterparts, including SM Entertainment and Keyeast that manages actor Kim Soo Hyun who played the lead role of a stranded alien in "My Love from the Star."

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic business partnership with China' s major Internet services company Tencent on Tuesday.
