Six injured in train collision near Brussels

A collision between a passenger train and a freight train occurred Monday afternoon south of the Belgian capital, Brussels, injuring six people.

The collision occurred early Monday afternoon between Linkebeek and Braine-l'Alleud stations, Belgium's national rail operator SNCB confirmed via Twitter.

The two trains were traveling on the same track, however, the exact circumstances of the accident are still being determined, Belgian daily newspaper, Le Soir reported.

Rail traffic was immediately halted on the tracks between Brussels Midi station and Linkebeek to Braine-l'Alleud. A replacement bus service should be running soon. Enditem
