APD| Chinese-owned SRE Group invested $100 million to build a new city in Cambodia

CAMBODIA ,Dec.31(APD ) - A Giant real estate developer from China Group, SRE Group, invested about $100 million build a new city so called ROMDUOL CITY in Phnom Penh capital city of Cambodia.

The project is the first high-end commercial and residential building project in Tek Thla communce Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh was broke the ground last week.

Khuong Sreng, governor of Phnom Penh, said at the groundbreaking ceremony that the development project is reflecting the country’s political stability and vibrant economy that attracts a lot foreign investors especially from China over the year.

“The project is also in line with the increase in the monthly income of citizens to contribute to national economic growth and Phnom Penh development to be more civilized,” he said. “The Romdoul City project, which SRE Group has been developing for the first time in Phnom Penh, will become a project that will further strengthen both sides' economic and trade relations.”

“Phnom Penh is a political, economic, cultural and tourist center, and is one of the fastest-growing cities among the ASEAN member countries and the fourth fastest-growing city globally, Mr Sreng said.

Phnom Penh is now in a new phase of development, and the Romdoul City project is surrounded by a scientific, educational, cultural, and health centers as Sen Sok district will be also a core development area for Phnom Penh in the future, he added.

The Romdoul City project is defined as an international ecological community, and the project will be constructed on 16,327 square meters with four high-rise buildings, two shopping malls and two parking lots below.

Liu Feng, CEO of SRE Group, said that the company has always worked hard to follow the Chinese government's strategic goals to achieve the company's global business development, and investing in Cambodia is also an active response to One Belt One Road of the strategic policy Chinese government.

“Meanwhile, the potential development of the real estate market in Phnom Penh and the future development of Cambodia which a new economy in Southeast Asia, is a reason to attract SRE Group to invest here.

In recent years, due to the rapid economic development of Phnom Penh, the average income has been increasing, attracting a lot of international people to develop and stay in Phnom Penh.

“SRE Group invested here is to meet the high quality housing demand, and with a plan to Romdoul City project it will be an achievement that brings together development resources and experience in the development and operations of the company throughout the globe to fill the gap of luxury property projects in Phnom Penh,” Mr Feng said.

The project has brought Modern Tropical's leading design philosophy to a famous design company from Singapore and the project was designed by a famous architect Matthew Hon by designing a city building model perfectly merged between local cultural elements and a great international experience.

“This Romdoul City Project features a large and green community in Phnom Penh, which is designed to have a mixed East-Asian ecosystem with palm trees and clear water which will create an beautiful ecological park,” Mr. Matthew Hon, said.
