Jockey pairs Vincent Ho, Clarissa Lyra win at 2018 HKJC Race of Riders

Pairs Vincent Ho and Clarissa Lyra Friday topped the 2018 Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Race of the Riders, while German rider Daniel Deusser won at the HKJC Trophy.

The two exciting competitions were held at the Hong Kong Asia World-Expo, as part of ongoing Asian leg of the intercontinential Longines Masters Series Season III Paris-Hong Kong-New York, which kicked off from Friday to Sunday.

The Asian leg has attracted some of world’s best riders, bringing exalting and elegant equestrian shows to the audience.

This year, Hong Kong, for the first time, sent two riders, 21-year-old Clarissa Lyra and 26-year-old Jacqueline Lai, to take part in the Asian Horse Week.

The HK new star Lyra paired up with prominent rider Vincent Ho won at the 2018 HKJC Race of the Riders.

For Lai, this is the third time to compete in the Longines Masters Series. She ever won the bronze medal at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, with other three team members.

As for another winner, German rider Daniel Deusser, has ranked first in the Paris leg in December. The victory in Hong Kong meant if he won in the following competition in New York City, USA in April, he would gain a prize purse of 2.25 million Euros.

After the Asian leg, the third season will be ended up in New York City from April 26 to 29, 2018.
