Every state in the United States is reporting a spike in its number of COVID-19 infections, according to the COVID Tracking Project.

The data shows that Washington, D.C. and five states – California, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont – have low cases, but increasing.

In the remaining 45 states as well as Guam, and Puerto Rico, cases remain steadily high.

The U.S. is the hardest-hit country globally by the COVID-19 pandemic. Its over 10.11 million virus infections are the biggest caseload recorded, just as its death toll exceeding 238,000 is the biggest.

The country accounts for 19.85 percent of the world's infections and 18.86 percent of all COVID-19-related fatalities reported worldwide.
