Terminal C of the George Bush International Airport in Houston was shut down Wednesday evening after police found a "suspicious package," the authorities said.

The Houston Police Bomb Squad has been called to the airport to check the abandoned bag.

The airport is the second largest air facility in the state of Texas after Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

With five terminals, the airport served more than 40 million passengers in 2017, making it among the 10 busiest airports in the United States.
