Robinhood on Wall Street: What it means for online traders

On Jul 29, online stock trading platform Robinhood, which played a major part in the GameStop stock frenzy at the beginning of 2021, went public on Wall Street, with an initial public offering of $38 per share. Wall Street has had its eyes on the company, which has been on roller coaster in prices in the weeks it’s been on the market.

The relationship between the app and Wall Street, especially hedge funds, has been tense, especially in the fallout from the GameStop trading fiasco. But there’s much more to the situation then it appears.
