The first group of electricity-generation units at the Wudongde Hydropower Station in southwest China, set to be the country's fourth and the world's seventh largest, has been put into use.
The hydropower station has a total installed capacity of 10.2 million kilowatts and an annual power generating capacity of 38.91 billion kilowatt-hours.
All generating units are expected to start operating before July 2021. The hydropower station will be China's fourth largest and the world's seventh largest hydropower project upon completion.
