ISLAMABAD, Nov. 26 (APD) -- Pakistan’s three-day Interiors Pakistan Exhibition 2017 will start on December 15 in the country’s eastern city of Lahore, which will be participated by delegations from several countries and regions.

The exhibition is being organized by the Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) to promote the country's interiors, furniture and accessories at home and abroad at the Expo Center in Lahore, a said a press statement on Sunday.

Delegations from countries and regions, including Britain, China, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Denmark, Thailand, Bangkok, China’s Hong Kong and others will attend the mega event.

Around 100 brands along with more than 70 leading local companies and interior designers will display their products.

According to the PFC, around 250,000 to 300,000 people from home and abroad are likely to visit the exhibition.

The visitors on the lookout for buying furniture will be able given a special discount at the event.

Mian Kashif Ashfaq, President of the PFC, said the exhibition will also provide the younger designers and architects to study the market trends and display their own work alongside that of more established professionals.

The exhibition had now opened new vistas and venues to the amazing potential and caliber of Pakistani furniture, fixtures and respective furnishing goods with high quality, said the official.

The essence of this mega furniture exhibition was to promote the furniture and associated Pakistan made products at the local and international level, said Ashfaq, adding that it would be a great platform for all small, medium and large furniture manufacturing companies in the country to promote their business and furniture related accessories.

Pakistan still lags behind many countries in making good, attractive and modern furniture, but its hand-made furniture is quite famous because of its unique designs.

The wooden furniture exports of Pakistan reportedly amount to over 70 million US dollars per annum. However, according to the All Pakistan Furniture Exporters Association, the country’s local furniture market is much stronger with an annual sale of over three billion US dollars, which offers a big room for foreign companies to enter.
