State Council to take measures to control COVID-19 cluster in Beijing

The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held a meeting on Sunday, with a focus on the need to take resolute and decisive measures to contain the spread of the new cluster of COVID-19 cases in Beijing.

The authorities said they will support Beijing's nucleic acid testing capacity, covering all key areas and populations. They will also help gradually expand the scope of testing, carry out screenings and help with centralized quarantine management.

Beijing will strengthen the establishment and renovation of fever clinics in all medical institutions, strictly implement the first-diagnosis responsibility system, and strengthen the prevention and control of fevers in hospitals.
