An out of service passenger train derailed at a subway station in Japan's central city of Osaka on Tuesday morning, affecting some 50,000 commuters but there were no reported injuries, according to local press.

The accident happened minutes before 7:00 a.m. local time when the fourth car of the train came off the rails before entering Awaza Station on the Sennichimae Line of the Osaka Municipal Subway, the daily Yomiuri Shimbun said. There were two operators on the four-car train but there was no report of injuries.

The report said that the derailment occurred on a sidetrack at the station, adding that some time would be needed to resume the full train operations on the line, which have been partially suspended since the morning hours. The cause of the accident remains to be seen.
