No casualties reported during 6.2-magnitude quake off southwestern Mexico

A 6.3-magnitude quake jolted 218km southwest of Tomatlan, Mexico at 14:23:13 GMT on Sunday, no casualties or damages have yet been reported.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 18.6697 degrees north latitude and 106.8437 degrees west longitude, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The National Seismology Service of Mexico rated the quake at 6.3 magnitude. There was a 5.3-magnitude quake 13 minutes later in the same area.

There has been no report of causality or damage following the earthquake, said Luis Felipe Puente, director of national emergency management office, in a Twitter post.

The quake was only slightly felt in some parts of the state of Jalisco in west Mexico, and not felt in Michoacan and Mexico City, he added.
