A video on learning cooking is widely circulated on the internet recently.

It tells a story about a Chinese teenager surnamed Yang who just begins his studies in the U.S.

He was about to attend a welcome party where all participants are expected to bring one traditional dish of their hometowns.

Yan meant to make “Scramble eggs with tomato”, a typical Chinese dish which is easy for starters to cook. Not knowing how to do it, he turned to his parents in China for help.

His mother replied him instantly online and told him the detailed recipe. However, Yang still seemed to be confused. His mother then shot a video of making “Scramble eggs with tomato” in the kitchen for him. Yang finally made it and brought it to his friends, who highly praised the sweet-and-sour-flavor cuisine. While Yang was enjoying the party with his new friends, it suddenly struck him it was 04:00 Beijing time because of time difference. The young man suddenly felt guilty and uneasy.

Though it turns out to be commercial video, comments are overwhelming. Some regard it as the pure expression of love, saying they are deeply moved and the video reminds them of those days of studying abroad. But some criticize Yang for the inconsiderate and immature behaviors as he should google the recipe on the internet by himself instead of disturbing his parents on late night.

The story in the video may not be true, but the love from parents is the greatest and unselfish. The unconditional love must be the most precious gift in our lives.
