6.6-magnitude quake hits Bouvet Island region -- USGS

An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted Bouvet Island region, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Tuesday.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 54.2 degrees south latitude and 8.9 degrees east longitude.
