An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 hit northern Morocco on Saturday, said the Moroccan Institute of Geophysics in a statement.
No casualties have been reported so far.
The tremor was recorded off the province of Driouch, it said.
At a depth of 16 km, the quake was felt in the cities of Fes and Meknes, but no damage has been detected so far.
